MIDZY

MIDZY (Hangul: 믿지) is the official fandom name for the South Korean k-pop girl group ITZY.

Etymology

The name comes from the Korean word 믿어, meaning to trust. It is believed that the word MIDZY means that the fans trust ITZY and ITZY trusts the fans in return. ^[1]

Founding

On July 7, 2019 (just five months after debut and several weeks before their anticipated comeback), ITZY released an image on their official Twitter account. ^[2]
